Firestone PondGard is an EPDM Geomembrane that is specifically designed for garden pond and lake applications. Its formulation and production process makes it perfectly compatible with aquatic life, in accordance with test reports published by the Water Research Centre in the UK. Firestone’s EPDM manufacturing facilities have received ISO 9001 certification for their total quality management principles and ISO 14001 certification for their environmental management systems. PondGard carries a 20 year guarantee.

Greenseal Pond Liners 0.75mm

Greenseal™ is produced in Sweden by our Butyl supplier, Trelleborg, who over the last 35 years have produced in excess of 45 million square metres of Geomembrane for world wide distribution. Greenseal, an EPDM lake liner of exceptional quality, is produced in 1.7m wide strips the same as Butyl, it has the same physical characteristics as Butyl with a cost saving of about 30%.

EPDM is not affected by UV light; it remains stable with advancing years regardless of temperatures from -40C to +120C without shrinkage, melting, brittleness or cracking. Used extensively by landscapers and civil engineers for lakes, canals, tank liners and reservoirs, its sheer durability and flexibility makes it the perfect choice for any landscape project.

Our unique prefabrication hot bond seam welding process, coupled with our in-house designed and patented vulcanising presses, allow us to manufacture single sheet liners up to 1800m² (40m x 45m) in our factories. The same process is used on-site to join multiple large sheets for reservoirs and lagoons.

Polyfelt TS60 are mechanically bonded non-woven geotextiles made of UV stabilised polypropylene. Our geotextile underlays offer exceptionally high performance and provide a highly effective protective barrier between substrate and liner. We recommend that our underlay is used beneath all our liners, not only to help protect liners from penetration by sharp stones, roots, etc, but also to reduce excessive localised stretching of the liner when settlement occurs.

These materials are actually developed for commercial road building and ground stabilisation applications and are far superior to cheaper underlay felts. Our 50 years trading experience reinforces our belief that quality pond building begins with selecting high quality products from the industrys leading suppliers. Using cheaper materials with a lower grade specification could potentially lead to a liner failure in years to come. We suggest fitting the best Underlay your budget allows.

In order to address the relatively high cost of Underlay material when installing a budget PVC pond liner we now offer the slightly lighter duty TS40 - 180gsm underlay.
